Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life

Let me introduce myself…

I was born in 1851 and presently live in Milan, in a strategic and convenient position that makes me easily connected to every part of my enchanting country: Italy.

I am a one-hour train ride from Turin, the capital of Taste. With a slightly longer journey I can reach Verona, where Romeo and Juliet struggled to defend their love. In two and a half hours I’ll be in Venice, the enthralling lagoon city. If I take a southbound train, I can reach Florence – the cradle of the Renaissance – in one and a half hours and Rome – the eternal city – in about three hours. Naples sometimes seems so far away… but actually we are only a four-hour ride from each other.

My total surface measures approximately 1 million square metres (about 1,2 million square yards). That’s why I decided to host 144 friends named Countries for 184 days: from May 1 to October 31, 2015. During these six month we’ll finally have the chance to think, discuss, study, and have fun together. Everybody is invited to join! Indeed, I expect 20 million new friends to come round. The Cirque du Soleil could not resist the temptation and has already confirmed its presence: the extraordinary artists will come 80 times to fascinate my friends with their show.

I have two main streets: the Cardo and the Decumanus. These lead to my 9 organs that I call clusters. My friends will help me develop the clusters and stimulate my five senses that people call Thematic Areas.

What are you waiting for? Come visit me!
